Hello my peeps!

Last night I did another play test with my sisters. More bugs were found but it was good. They seem to be enjoying what little is in the game at the moment. As for progress I have been able to complete a lot of things this week.

I got a basic chat system set up for all fringe NPCs and Thomas. All fringe buildings are completed on the interior and NPCs have sprites that function. Some allow for the purchase and sell of limited items. I finished half of the 1 star chatter for all fringe NPCs. I set up the star system to show the player what their relationship with each NPC is.

I created a simple music changing system so that the music will change depending on the time of day, season, and weather. It’s still a bit buggy so I will continue to refine it and make everything sound related smoother. I have also been tweaking time of day transitions to try and make those a bit smoother.

I implemented the bare bones of a fishing system. It needs a TON of work but it’s certainly a start. I’m fairly happy with it so far so I just need to make it more complex and allow for the player to catch a variety of fish instead of just one kind.

I did a major overhaul of the spawning system because it was starting to create a bit of lag. I made it much more efficient which fixed this issue and now it creates 0 lag.

My future (large) goals are to deepen the fishing system and start putting crafting and the main harvesting mechanics in. I would also like to put in player house upgrades and laying down pathways. I don’t have any long breaks in January so I’m not sure how I will get in these goals but we’ll see.
